September 11, 2007 marks
the six-year anniversary of 9/11. There will be
several memorial events in the New York City
area to honor and remember the victims of
September 11th and to come together as a
community.

WTC Site Memorial Ceremony and
Remembrance
The official New York City observance of the
sixth anniversary of 9/11 will take place at
the World Trade Center site on the morning
of Tuesday, September 11th. This year,
responders to the attack will deliver the
reading of the names of the victims during
the ceremony while music will play in the
background. The "Tribute in Light" will
again return at sundown.

Remembrance at Trinity Church
Attend a ceremony of remembrance at the
historic Trinity Church. At 8:46 AM, the
church bells will toll in honor of those who
died on September 11, 2001. The Downtown
Glee Club will perform from 10-11AM. The
concert will be followed by a Eucharist for
Peace service from 12:05-1:00PM. From
1:30-3:30PM, an Open Music Ensemble will
perform music of meditation, healing, and
remembrance.

Services at St. Peters Church
There
will be at least four public remembrance
services just about every hour, the first
service starting at 8:46am and the last
public service at 1:00pm. There will
be two special services for the Port
Authority one at 2:00pm and an second
service for Port Authority Police at 3:00pm.

9/11 WTC Memorial
Annual Floating Lanterns Ceremony
The New York Buddhist
Church (NYBC)
will present a floating lantern ceremony led
by Rev. TK Nakagaki. This ancient custom is
a symbolic representation of respecting the
lives that have gone before us and also
represents a light of hope for peace and
harmony. This event is free and open to the
public.
