Items of Interest to PA Employees & Retirees - 2017

Items of Interest:

11-7-2017 - On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, a referendum will be on the ballot in New York State (NYS) asking voters to choose “yes” or “no” on the issue: Do you agree to hold a NYS Constitutional Convention (ConCon)? Our answer: vote “NO.”

If you are a PA retiree or a current PA employee, collecting and/or earning your pension from the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS), you should be very concerned about the potential impact a NYS ConCon could have on your pension.  Why? During a NYS ConCon anything can be put on the table and that includes the current provision under the NYS Constitution that protects pension benefits.  Click Here for letter to PARA members.

November 7, 2017 will be here rapidly, and we need you to get the word out to your family and friends, people with whom you worked and work with now, and anyone you know who is a NYS voter who would want to be sure pension benefits will continue to be protected.
