A special event to benefit
Reese Behnken will be held on Aug. 1 at 12:30 p.m. at the 16th
Street Park in Bayonne, NJ. Reese is the daughter of a
Howell firefighter and she is fighting a rare condition called
metachromatic leukodystrophy. MLD is a life-threatening
genetic condition in which the body is missing a key enzyme,
which inhibits the necessary signals to be sent throughout the
body. Researchers are seeking a cure for MLD. For

Howell resident Chris Acevedo and one of his fellow NY/NJ Port
Authority police officers have organized a fun-filled event to
offer a day of laughs for friends and family while raising money
for MLD research. There will be a soccer tournament,
games, face painting, a DJ and a raffle. |
