In Memory of John A. Eymer

John A Eymer, 93, of Hobe Sound Florida, sadly passed away on Feb 1, 2024. He died peacefully in his sleep.

John was born on May 17, 1930, in Manhattan N.Y. He was raised in the Bronx and graduated High School there. He had a AA Degree from Brooklyn College majoring in Police Science. He also had a Graduate Degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He retired as a Police Captain at the Port Authority of NYC. He later became the Director of the Federal Protective Services after graduating from the FBI National Academy and retired from the Social Security Administration.

John was a Master Mason and was involved with them for over 65 years. He was also a Navy Veteran.

In his younger years, John loved to ski, go boating and fishing, and travel, and later in life, he loved Bingo. He was a loving and generous man with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his son Stephen Eymer, and daughter-in-law Laurie Eymer, their two sons Michael and Daniel Eymer and granddaughter Minowa Brake-Eymer, and his daughter Leslie Eymer of Suffern NY.

He is also survived by his stepchildren Bruce Ketrick, Brad Ketrick, Paul Ketrick, and Janice Hirschfield and their children and grandchildren.

He is preceded by his mother and father August and Margarete Eymer, his loving wife Joan Eymer of 30 years, and his beloved pet, StormKing.
