I was working at Journal Square in Jersey City in the PATH Transportation Division in 2001 and was asked to be part of the Peoplesoft Payroll Team. The PA Payroll Team was located on the WTC 71st floor. The Payroll Team was developed to help transition the PATH Payroll System to the PA Peoplesoft Payroll System.
On Monday, September 10th, I received a called from the Team Leader saying I was not required to report to the WTC on Tuesday, September 11th because they were not going to be testing the PATH Payroll that day.
As we all reflect back to that day, I remember watching from my office window in horror. Praying to God that my friends and coworkers would be safe.
On September 12th, I was assigned to the PATH train platform to direct passengers to their respective destinations. Everyone was in shock and did not know where they were heading. I remember how heavy my heart was and how hard it was to keep my head focused to assist the passengers.
I remember how happy and relieved I was seeing many of my coworkers and Payroll Team members as they step off the PATH train safe and reassigned to work in the Jersey City offices.
Will Never Forget 9/11/01 and pray to God for those that did not make it back.
