I was contacted by James "Jimmy" Lynch sometime in 1998. Jimmy was working at the New Jersey Marine Terminal and I was at the World Trade Center. Jimmy asked me if I would be interested in a Mutual Transfer with him. I was first on the list for Port Newark and he was first on the list for the WTC. I told Jimmy that if everyone approved it, I would be very interested.
A few weeks later, Jimmy called me and told me that the transfer had been approved. On September 11, 2001, I was scheduled for a 10:45 AM appointment at PA Medical in 1 WTC, for a torn ligament in my right foot, incurred as part of an arrest in Elizabeth, NJ. Jimmy was at PA Medical the morning of 9-11 to get cleared to go back to work after a short bout with a virus. Jimmy was a t PA Medical at 8:30 that morning and was activated to full duty when the first plan hit 1 WTC. I never made my scheduled appointment as the build collapsed from the implosion and Jimmy was killed in the collapse and aftermath.
Jimmy was a good person as were the other PAPD members killed on 9-11.
