This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, creating a legacy of tragedy and resilience for the Port Authority across all its facilities. The Port Authority Retirees Association invites you to share your personal recollections of that day and its aftermath as a resource for the PANYNJ community. What do you most want current and future employees to know about what Port Authority people did on 9/11 and thereafter that, taken together, enabled the agency to restore its vital transportation services across the region and rebuild safely for the future?
Please email your reflections of up to 500 words to stories@paranynj.org or in a letter to P.O. Box 383, Oceanville, NJ 08231, by August 14, 2026. PARA will review and compile your responses as a permanent feature of our website (www.paranynj.org) and will publish highlights in the Fall PARA-Phernalia newsletter. PARA’s Retirees Remember 9/11 project complements the Port Authority’s special efforts this year to preserve the memory of this tumultuous time and to build a unity of spirit between those of us who lived it and the agency’s staff for years to come.
Thank you for your participation.
