In Memory of Scott Calandra

Active Police Officer Scott Calandra #327, of the Port Newark/NJMT Command, passed away this afternoon.  Scott was appointed to the Port Authority Police Department on July 15, 2002, as a member  of the PAPD’s 104th Academy Class. 

Prior to that, Scott was a New York City Police Officer.  During his career Scott had been assigned to the PA Bus Terminal, Newark Airport, Staten Island Bridges, and his current command, Port Newark/NJMT.

Scott is the grandson of PAPD officer James Calandra, who was killed in the Line Of Duty on November 19, 1956.

Scott leaves behind a wife and two young children.

Obituary

Scott Calandra, 45 of Bayville, NJ, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

He was born in Westwood and was raised in Montvale. He was a graduate of Pascack Hills High School. Scott was a Patrol Officer for the Port Authority Police Department for the past 18 years and was a New York City Police Officer for 2 years before transferring to the Port Authority.

Scott enjoyed being a dad and spending time with his family. He was a fan of the New Jersey Devils and the New York Yankees and was an avid video gamer.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Maureen Calandra. Beloved husband of Alicia (Nee: Bucciarelli) Calandra. Loving father of Nicholas and Lyla Calandra. Brother of James (Carolynn), Joseph (Moira) and Anthony (Kelly) Calandra and brother-in-law of Andrea (David) Levy and Adam Bucciarelli. Uncle of Jessica, Jimmy, Jack, Caitlin, Joey, Katie, Megan, Jake and Cali. Son-in-law of Gary and Stella Bucciarelli.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with religious services at 4:30 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski and Son Funeral Home Inc. 32 East 22nd Street, Bayonne (201-339-1692) Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Bayville Cemetery, 526 Atlantic City Boulevard Bayville, N.J.
