Matthew Michael Doyle, 87, of Howell, NJ formerly of Ft. Meyers, FL died Sunday, November 19, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Jersey City, NJ Matthew lived in Parlin, NJ and retired to Ft. Meyers, FL before moving to Howell 4 years ago.
Matthew was a police officer with Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as well as an ironworker until his retirement. He was an avid reader, golfer who enjoyed sports, the beach and swimming in the ocean. He also enjoyed a good workout and good music. Everyone who knew Matt, knew he was a huge Elvis fan. Matthew was a family man who adored his wife and his daughters.
Matthew was predeceased by his brother Mark Doyle, his sister Michele Doyle Llaneza, son-in-law Jeff Schlinger, and his grandson Jeffrey Schlinger.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Margaret Doyle, 5 daughters, Margaret Mandreucci and her husband Marcello of Robbinsville, NJ, Diane Jannone and her husband Chris of Robbinsville, NJ, Karen Ryan and her husband John of Howell, NJ, Nancy Nelli and her husband James of Waymart, PA, Mary Schlinger and her partner William Hart of Toms River, NJ, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Lawrence Doyle, Sharon McCabe and Marianne Denman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 2-6pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 27, 2023, 10:30 am at St. Rose Church, Belmar. Committal will be private.
