Richard J. Cravello, 64, of Rochelle Park, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Before retiring, Richard worked for the Port Authority NY/NJ as a Fire Marshall for over 35 years. Following his retirement, he worked for Ridgefield Park and Twp. of Washington as a Fire Inspector/Investigator. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church and proud member of the Rochelle Park Fire Department. Richard was a courageous 9/11 firefighter-never forget-and saved countless lives throughout his decorated career. Above all, he was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by so many.
Beloved husband of Teresa (nee Judge). Devoted father of Christine Bucco and her husband Joseph, Brianne Cravello, and Kathleen Cravello. Cherished grandfather of Kayla and Kenzie. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret Cravello. Predeceased by his brother John Cravello (1994) and his sister Carol Cravello (1996). Loving son of the late Giovanni and Phyllis Cravello. Richard is also survived by his canine companion Guinness.
Family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 9:30 am at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home and then to Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 12 Terrace Ave., Rochelle Park, for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial.
Cremation will be private.
